Stories From the Ocean

catching The wave

The West Coast

I didn't grow up in a coastal state. The water I was around as a kid was freshwater lakes, rivers, and creeks. But my family took a few trips to see the mighty Pacific Ocean. I still remember when I was six years old and I smelled the sea salt and felt the ocean mist on my face for the first time. Witnessed the crashing waves. I became familiar with the Atlantic due to family on the East Coast. But when I revisited the west coast I fell in love again with the wildness and vastness of the Pacific.

So, this gallery is dedicated to falling in love with the ocean for the second time.

Whalehead Rock

This is my personal favorite. The water was so high this day and the crashing waves made everything look like it was covered in a golden mist. I remember the waves were so loud it almost cancelled out your own thoughts. I believe this image captured the raw and ridged coastline and how dangerously beautiful it is.
